1) What is a mobile notary?
A mobile notary travels to your home, office, hospital, hotel, business, or another convenient location to notarize your documents. You don't have to travel to a notary—the notary comes to you. I also offer appointments at my location, which can be a more cost-effective option.
2) What types of documents can be notarized?
We notarize a wide variety of personal and business documents, including affidavits, powers of attorney, trusts, contracts, vehicle documents, estate documents, real estate documents, and almost any document requiring notarization. We cannot notarize vital records such as birth, death, or marriage certificates.
3) Is an appointment required?
Yes. Appointments are required for all notary services.
4) Can I schedule a notary appointment the same day?
Same-day appointments may be available depending on your location and our availability. For the best selection of appointment times, we recommend scheduling in advance.
5) What should I bring to my notary appointment?
You will generally need the complete document(s) to be notarized and acceptable identification. Your document should be filled out before the appointment, but do not sign it until instructed by the notary if the notarization requires you to sign in the notary's presence.
6) What forms of identification are accepted?
Acceptable identification generally includes a driver's license, state-issued identification card, or passport.
7) What if I don't have a valid ID?
A notarization may still be possible in certain circumstances, but you must be able to establish your identity in a manner permitted by Utah law. This may involve a credible identifying witness, and specific requirements apply.
8) Can a notary complete my document for me?
No. A notary cannot determine what information belongs in your document or complete it on your behalf. Documents should generally be completed before your appointment, except for signatures or information that must be completed in the notary's presence.
9) Do you notarize documents written in another language?
There can be restrictions depending on the document, the signer, and applicable Utah law. Please contact us before scheduling if your document or signing involves another language.
10) Why might a notary refuse to notarize a document?
A notary must refuse a notarization when legal requirements aren't met—for example, if the signer cannot establish their identity, appears unwilling or unable to understand the transaction, or the notarization would violate applicable law.
11) Can you travel to a hospital or nursing home?
Yes. Mobile notaries can often travel to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and private residences, subject to availability and the facility's policies.
12) What if I am unable to physically sign my name?
In Utah, the signer must be able to physically sign the document. If you are unable to physically sign, please contact us before scheduling so we can determine whether any notarization is possible.-click to edit link text.
13). Do you offer Apostille services?
Apostille's are done through the State of Utah, but most docuemnts need to be notarized first.
14) What is a Remote Online Notary (RON)?
Remote Online Notarization allows you to have docuemnts notarized online, without meeting the notary in person. You meet with the notary through a secure online platform using live audion and video, verify your identity, electronically sign the document, and the notary completes the notarization electronically.
